TES-OM / TES-ORR — oil distribution transformers (hermetically sealed and with conservator)
TES-OM and TES-ORR oil transformers are made in a hermetically sealed design and with an oil conservator. They work indoors and outdoors, including heavily polluted areas, and are used in distribution networks, industry, mining and the oil and gas sector.

Description
Oil transformers of this series allow many configurations and installation methods, indoors and outdoors, including heavily polluted areas. They are especially valued for outdoor installation. According to the manufacturer, more than 10 000 of its oil transformers are in operation worldwide.
Two main designs are made. The hermetically sealed one has a completely filled tank without a conservator, and the other design is fitted with a conservator. A typical package includes LV and HV bushings, an off-circuit tap changer (DETC) and an earthing terminal. Accessories are mounted and wired at the factory to simplify installation and maintenance and to cut costs. Dimensions and terminal positions are optimized for limited space.
For extreme environmental conditions, a special anti-corrosion coating and stainless steel bolts are used. Designs for seismic zones and installations with a high level of vibration are available. Filling with eco-friendly fluids is possible. Examples of executions include TES-OM 315 kVA, 30/0.4 kV, Dyn11, 50 Hz, regulation ±2×2.5 %, and TES-ORR3-2 630 kVA, 20/0.4 kV, Dyn11. The manufacturer's oil transformer range reaches 50 MVA and insulation class 145 kV (BIL 650 kV), and large units with OLTC are described in a separate entry.
Routine tests cover measurement of winding resistance, transformation ratio, vector group, dielectric strength, no-load losses and current, short-circuit voltage and losses, and a check of accessories. Type tests are carried out for lightning impulse, temperature rise and noise level, and special tests for short-circuit withstand under IEC 60076. The company's environmental management system is certified to ISO 14001:2015 by DNV Business Assurance Italy. The scope of the certificate covers design, manufacture and testing of oil-filled, dry-type and cast resin transformers, reactors and autotransformers. The transformers are used in distribution networks, industry, mining and oil and gas facilities, PV plants, hydropower plants and geothermal stations.
The hermetically sealed design is convenient because the tank is closed and the oil does not contact air, so no care of the conservator and air dehydrating breather is needed. The design with a conservator remains the familiar choice when visual control of the oil level is required.
