Description
Eco-friendly transformers are filled with biodegradable ester oil of fire safety class K, with a temperature above 300 °C. SF6 gas-insulated units go to urban and underground substations; SF6 is stable up to 500 °C, cooling is by water. Phase-shifting transformers are used to control power flows between networks. Scott transformers are applied in traction networks, and furnace transformers work on metallurgical furnaces.
