Description

Small oil-immersed distribution transformers are the last link of the distribution grid. They are installed on overhead line poles or on concrete pads, and they give the consumer the final voltage of 100–600 V. They are manufactured at a plant in Thailand. The rated power is from 30 to 1000 kVA, the primary voltage is up to 36 kV and the secondary voltage is up to 600 V.

The manufacturer has extensive experience in supplying such transformers for distribution grids in Thailand and other countries, so the main variants are standardized. These are the pole-mounted or pad-mounted version, a hermetically sealed, sealed or conservator design, and also a smooth tank (up to 50 kVA), corrugated walls or radiators. In the pole-mounted version the transformer is fixed on a pole, and in the pad-mounted version it is placed on a concrete pad next to the consumer. A core of Hi-B grain-oriented steel reduces no-load losses and noise. In the hermetically sealed design the oil is isolated from air, so a separate conservator is not needed. A smooth tank is suitable for small ratings up to 50 kVA, and for larger ones heat is removed by corrugated walls or radiators.

The standard equipment of the hermetically sealed version includes HV and LV bushings, a five-position off-circuit tap changer, lifting lugs, earthing terminals, a pressure relief valve, a thermometer pocket, a filling pipe, skids, a drain valve and a rating plate. Options include plug-in HV bushings, a dual-voltage version, a galvanized tank, surge arresters for the CSP version (with built-in protection), maximum and dial thermometers with two contacts, an oil level gauge, spark gap horns and bird protection, integrated brackets for pole mounting, bidirectional rollers and cable boxes. In the CSP version the surge arresters are part of the transformer and do not need separate installation on the pole. Spark gap horns and bird protection are needed on overhead lines, where the HV terminals are exposed.

Typical applications are overhead and cable distribution grids of 6–35 kV, rural and urban grids, industrial sites and solar energy facilities. The transformer type is chosen for the rating, the way of installation and the grid conditions. The product is an equivalent of ТМ and ТМГ transformers rated up to 1000 kVA.
