Description
The manufacturer makes a full range of transformers for wind power plants, from units in the turbine nacelle and tower to step-up transformers for offshore platforms. Its equipment operates at the Dafeng (300 MW), Yangjiang Shapa and Yuhuan-2 offshore wind farms, the latter being China's first offshore wind farm with reduced-frequency 20 Hz transmission.
The SZ-340000/330 step-up transformer, rated 340 MVA, has voltages of (345 ±8×1.25 %)/66 kV, vector group YNd11, ONAN cooling, no-load loss of 148 kW, short-circuit loss of 728 kW and noise of up to 69 dB(A). The three-winding SSZ-315000/220, rated 315 MVA (230/69/10.5 kV), takes the output of the wind turbines on the 66 kV side and steps it up to 220 kV for transmission ashore, while the 10.5 kV winding supplies the platform's auxiliary needs. Per the manufacturer, it has regulation of ±8×1.25 % on the HV side, a top-oil temperature rise of 54 K, an average winding temperature rise of 64 K and HV insulation of SI750 LI950 AC395. Both units are compact and lightweight, resistant to corrosion, seismic effects and short-circuit currents, hold overloads and need minimal maintenance.
The low-frequency SS-330000/220 (330 MVA, 230/66/10.5 kV, 20 Hz) was created for reduced-frequency AC transmission from distant offshore wind farms. The manufacturer studied the behaviour of electrical steel and the load characteristics at 20 Hz and kept mass and dimensions in check despite the very high short-circuit impedance between windings.
Wind turbine transformers raise the generator voltage of 690 or 1140 V to the voltage of the plant's internal network. The oil-immersed tower and nacelle models include the SW(B)SP-F(H)-14400/69 (14.4 MVA, 69/1.14 kV) for 13 MW turbines, the SRBSPB-F(H)-17600/35 (17.6 MVA, 36.75/1.14 kV) and the low-frequency SRESPB-F(H)-18000/66 for 16 MW turbines. They are vibration- and explosion-resistant and have high overload capacity.
The dry-type nacelle SCSFB-13200/69 (13.2 MVA, 69/1.14 kV) is cooled by the AFWF scheme, with a temperature rise of up to 125 K. The tower SCSB-F-7400/35 (7.4 MVA, 35/0.69 kV, Dy11y11) became the first dry-type transformer for offshore turbine towers to be connected to the grid. The dry-type models have C5-VH corrosion protection, climatic class C4, environmental class E4 and fire class F1. A dry-type nacelle transformer for 35 kV is made for onshore wind farms.
