ET3oG / ET3SG — mining transformers with a primary winding up to 3.3 kV
ET3oG and ET3SG are three-phase low-voltage mining transformers with a primary winding up to 3,300 V and a secondary up to 1,000 V. They supply electrical equipment working in the harsh conditions of the mining industry. Enclosures available to order protect the unit from moisture, dust and temperature swings.

Description
Mining is one of the main areas of the plant in Lubliniec (Poland). For mines it also produces MV transformers for explosion-protected substations, water-cooled transformers for powering longwall shearers, and reactors and filters for mining drives. The ET3oG and ET3SG series cover the low-voltage part, and the website also shows the ET3GCH three-phase mining transformers.
The transformers are built to the transformer standards EN/IEC 61558 or EN/IEC 60726 and to the mining standards PN-G-50003 or BN-82/0466-03. Insulation class is B (130 °C) as standard up to a rating of 5 kVA and F (155 °C) above 5 kVA. The climatic version is C2/E1 for mining, ambient temperature 45 °C, frequency 50/60 Hz, protection class I. The vector group is Yy0 as standard, and the table of examples also includes Dyn5, Dyn1, Yyn0 and Dy5. The windings are impregnated with epoxy resin by dipping or by the VPI method.
The basic protection degree is IP00. The transformer is fixed with mounting angles, which simplifies installation in various underground structures. To order, the units are supplied with IP23, IP44 or IP54 enclosures, which increase resistance to moisture, dust and temperature swings. Terminals are placed on one or both sides of the transformer to suit the existing wiring scheme and are made as clamps, cable lugs or copper busbars.
The examples in the catalogue table range from 3.5 kVA with voltages of 3 × 500/500/220 V to 250 kVA with voltages of 3 × 3300/1000 V and vector group Dy5. To size a specific unit, the catalogue cards of the general line are used, namely single-phase transformers up to 2.5 kVA and up to 100 kVA, and three-phase transformers up to 40 kVA and up to 2,500 kVA. The manufacturer stresses safety in mining conditions, stable operation under load and resistance to a harsh environment during long service.
The transformers supply mining machines, lighting, control circuits and groups of starters in underground workings. For 0.4–1.14 kV networks of coal and ore mines, the series is considered as a replacement for dry-type mine transformers. Selection is based on rating, vector group and secondary voltage, which per the catalogue does not exceed 1,000 V, so for 1.14 kV networks the parameters are clarified to order.
