SEL-4000 / SEL-T4287 — test systems for protection relays
SEL-4000 and SEL-T4287 are used to test protection terminals. The SEL-4000 verifies settings through low-level inputs and supplies 3U+3I at each line end, while the SEL-T4287 checks fault locators and protection functions that operate on traveling waves.

Description
The SEL-4000 is designed for testing two terminals, for example a line differential protection set at both ends of a line. The SEL-T4287 applies pulse injection, followed by tests of protection and traveling-wave fault location. The equipment is used during commissioning and periodic protection tests at substations.
