TC 1500 V central inverters with integrated 35 kV step-up substation (3.1–8.8 MW) for solar plants
TC series central inverters with an integrated 35 kV step-up substation have a power of 3.125 to 8.8 MW and operate from 1500 V arrays. They are installed at large solar plants on flat terrain, in deserts, in the Gobi and on difficult land. The unit is delivered assembled and tested, so there is less work on site.

Description
One unit combines a central inverter, a 35 kV step-up transformer and a high-voltage compartment with a vacuum circuit breaker. In European terminology this is an inverter-transformer station (MV skid). The built-in transformer is oil-filled, 35 ±2×2.5% / 0.63 kV, vector group Dy11, ONAN cooling, PCB-free mineral oil. The short-circuit voltage is 8% in the TC4400 with a tolerance of +10%. The AC-side breaking capacity is 65 kA.
TC4400KT-AL and TC4400KT-CL are rated for a nominal output power of 4400 kW. The maximum input voltage is 1500 V, the MPPT range is 895–1500 V, and full power is available at 895–1300 V. There are three MPPT trackers, 18–24 DC inputs for bifacial 182/210 modules, and a maximum input current of 5737 A. The maximum efficiency is 99.05%, and the China-weighted efficiency is 98.55%. The TC3125KFT of 3125 kW has an efficiency of 99.11% and a 3125 kVA transformer delivering up to 3438 kVA at 50 °C, a short-circuit voltage of 6.5%, dimensions of 5006 × 2900 × 2545 mm and a weight of 13 t. The international model TC8800KT-EL of 8.8 MW has an efficiency of 99.08%.
The current distortion factor is less than 3%, and the DC component is less than 0.5%. The power factor is 0.99 at rated load and is adjustable from 0.8 inductive to 0.8 capacitive. Harmonic suppression and adaptive matching to grid impedance keep operation at a short-circuit ratio of 1.0 (SCCR 0.7). An SVG function, fast active power response, PID protection options, an energy storage interface and an IEC 61850 adapter are available. Protections cover overvoltages, overcurrents and lightning on the AC and DC sides, and monitoring of the grid, earth faults, insulation and overheating.
The TC4400 unit has dimensions of 7464 × 2948 × 2610 mm and a weight of 16 t. The degree of protection is IP54, and IP55/IP65 for the inverter, with corrosion class C3 and C4/C5 options. The operating temperature is −35…+60 °C with derating above 40 °C, altitude up to 5000 m, and humidity 0–100% non-condensing. Communication is via RS-485 and Ethernet. The equipment complies with GB/T 37408, GB/T 19964, NB/T 32004, Q/GDW 1617 and other standards.
