Purpose
Installed in the oil pipe between the tank of an oil-filled transformer (reactor) and the conservator. The alarm element operates when gas accumulates (slow decomposition of insulation or oil); the trip element operates on violent gas formation, a sharp oil surge towards the conservator or loss of oil. Used in transformer gas protection schemes.
